BIM6D wins BIM for FM tender for Catalonia Government Administrative Offices

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE INTEGRATION AND ADAPTATION OF BUILDING BIM MODELS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF CATALUNYA FOR BUILDING FACILITY MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE

BIM6D Consulting & Performance has won the public tender for a new challenging project consisting in the TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE INTEGRATION AND ADAPTATION OF BUILDING BIM MODELS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF CATALUNYA FOR BUILDING FACILITY MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE. Code ECO-17219 (BIM), this project is positioning BIM6D as a BIM reference company to prepare digital content from construction (As built) to be ready to integrate to Facility Management platforms and Building Management Systems for Smart Buildings, so BIM6D is proposing to set the basis for a complete DigitalTwin to be used for building operations, thanks to include the use of POWERBIM platform in our proposal.

The contract is managed by Infraestructures de la Generalitat de Catalunya SAU whic is a public company of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) that has the status of the Administration of the Generalitat de Catalunya and its public sector.

The complex has a gross area of 58,587 m2, and has been designed by Batlle i Roig Arquitectura to accommodate all the Ministries of the Administration of the government of Catalunya. It is the first building in Catalonia to have the LEED PLATINUM and WELL certifications, which exhaustively measure the well-being of users, so we are proud to participate in a project totally aligned with our phylosphy in BIM6D: Professionals and technology to create better buildings, more sustainable, smart and energy efficient.

The main activities that we will develop in the contracted works, are aimed to prepare the As Built model created by Construction Companies Comsa and FCC we list below:

  • BIM Execution Plan creation for Facility Management and Building Operations
  • Adaptation of existing BIM models for the goals, using automation scripts (dynamo and others), and focusing in the data injection to obtain high quality Asset Information Models AIM.
  • Facility Management Software and Systems integration test with the platform currently used
  • POWERBIM prototype to integrate data insights coming from the building to the BIM Asset Information Model and to demostrate the ability to create a DigitalTwin for multiple use cases in a single platform.

BIM6D Consulting & Performance has been awarded on the public tender consisting of the SERVICE FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF BIM GRAPHIC DOCUMENTATION TO TERSA GROUP. Record CTTE 687, this new project achieves a double strategic objective for the company, firstly to consolidate maturity and leadership based on experience in digitization services for the AECO sector, and secondly to be able to collaborate with an entity directly dedicated to offer environmental services and a key piece in the development of the circular economy, fully aligned with the sixth BIM dimension on which our company focuses its efforts, working on digitization to improve energy efficiency, sustainability indicators and operating processes of assets.

TERSA is a public entity that operates in the Metropolitan Area of ​​Barcelona, ​​specializing in the recovery and management of waste, the generation and sale of renewable energy and the promotion of sustainability based on promoting the commitment of citizens to their environment.

Among the activities that we will develop in the contracted works, we will carry out the digitalization of the SEMESA and GARRAF plants (performing point cloud scanning, including drone flights), BIM modeling and updating of the graphic documentation that TERSA already has, and the improvement in the quality of the database available according to recognized BIM standards. BIM consulting services, such as the training and implementation of a Common Data Environment, the development of BIM protocols, or the integration of BIM to CMMS and Business Intelligence, thanks to the implementation of our digital ecosystem POWERBIM platform.

ABC newsletter has published a column about Smart Buildings including the vision of opportunies in the sector in this area to BIM6D approach by developing digital twins tools and 4.0 engineering services in orther to evolve to Smart Buildings and Smart Cities integrated.

Fernando Morales, founder of BIM6D, has created a team of professionals in the sector and high-level IT developers, and they have bet to digitalize buildings and their systems based in BIM methodology and their tools. First developing services for digitalization and simulation of multiple projects of Smart Buildings, while at the same time they have developed a digital platform – PowerBIM – which integrates digital models to Smart Buildings and Smart Grids data to monitor and to manage their systems in remote. This is the basis of their actual development of an ecosystem of Digital Twin – PowerTwin – in which, trough simulations, IoT, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality convert in more smart the platform and allow to predict and to optimize the different systems.

FINALISTS IN DUBAI FUTURE FOUNDATION ACCELERATOR

BIM6D has been selected finalist in a cohort promoted by Dubai Municipality and Dubai Future Foundation. With the name of “The future of Construction Tech” we arrived to be shortlisted in a group of 10 teams between more than 300 proposals presented.

In the pre-accelerator weeks prepared with specific virtual meetings and sessions our team worked hard in presenting POWERBIM for remote inspection, our proposal served to demonstrate to ourselves that we are ready to connect to multiple sensors and devices like cameras, fixed, portable in ummaned systems, and others like Building Management Systems, to BIM, in real time.

We didn’t pass to next stage, but anyway, for us it has been a completely pleasure for us to arrive so far and to have the honour to present to dubai municipality representants our work.

AUTODESK FORGE ACCELERATOR IN BARCELONA 2017

BIM6D has participated in the Cloud Accelerator program for AEC projects using the Autodesk Forge technology. Together with the Healthcare Architecture Firm PINEARQ SLP, BIM6D is immersed in the development of an R&D project that will consist in the use of BIM technologies for Facilities Management for in use buildings.

The Autodesk Cloud Accelerator has provided an opportunity to increase our capabilities to create applications that use this technology, with the help of the best Autodesk developers.
