a new challenge, which makes us proud

BIM6D Consulting & Performance is increasingly consolidating its presence in the digitalization services ecosystem for the AECO sector, to the point that it has been awarded the public tender to provide digital modeling services using the BIM methodology for the four locations of the Museo Nacional Reina Sofía (the Sabatini and Nouvel buildings, and the Crystal and Velázquez palaces). This project is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union through the Next Generation EU program, aimed at digitizing major cultural services.

As a result of this agreement, we will achieve:
  • The precise digitalization of assets to generate a BIM model that enables the extraction of reliable information and graphic documentation about the buildings, ensuring the coherence and reliability of the original documentation and the integration of different disciplines in future works.
  • Facilitate decision-making by allowing visualization and support in future maintenance, improvement, or space redistribution interventions.
  • Provide a reliable database for conducting energy analyses, measurements, and occupancy/evacuation simulations, which will assist in space management decisions in specific situations.
  • We will develop a project BEP (BIM Execution Plan) that defines the objectives and methodology to create BIM models for purposes that go beyond merely having a parametric 3D model, as it will design the strategy for using digital models for the comprehensive management of the Museum with the latest technologies.
  • We will implement a CDE (Common Data Environment): A collaborative common environment will be established to manage BIM models and project documentation in the cloud.

The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid was inaugurated in 1992 and has become one of the most important museums in Spain. It houses a vast collection of modern and contemporary art, with works by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Miró.

The four jewels of this crown:

Sabatini Building

This is the main headquarters of the museum. Originally, it was the General Hospital of Madrid, an 18th-century building designed by Francisco Sabatini. Closed in 1965, it was renovated and converted into a museum in 1986, maintaining its neoclassical style.

Nouvel Building

Inaugurated in 2005, this building was designed by French architect Jean Nouvel as an extension of the museum. It includes auditoriums, a library, a café, and more exhibition rooms, with modern architecture characterized by its metallic structure and large canopies.

Crystal Palace

Located in Retiro Park, it was built in 1887 for the Philippine Exposition. It is a structure of iron and glass inspired by the Crystal Palace in London. It currently hosts temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.

Velázquez Palace

Also located in Retiro, this building was constructed between 1881 and 1883 for the National Mining Exhibition. Its architecture combines brick and iron, with ceramic decorative elements. Like the Crystal Palace, it is used for temporary exhibitions.

With this new project, we continue to enhance our reputation as a leader in BIM technology within the AECO sector. BIM6D constantly evolves Building Information Modeling, taking it to the next level by integrating asset lifecycle management, cost optimization, and the generation of new business models for our clients.

Thanks to our team of professionals, we build innovative solutions that are adaptable to various needs, allowing MNCARS to project itself into the future as a global leader in digital transformation.
